An industrial BESS is an infrastructure project with several tracks: agreement, grid, authorities, construction, electrical work and operation. The host needs to understand the process and provide space and site rights, while ZynexGroup coordinates the project.

From initial discussion to agreement

We start with the company's goals, consumption data, grid conditions and possible location. Connection size is an input to sizing. The assessment depends on the specific site and the terms the grid company can permit.

Space and physical preparation

The contractor prepares the ground and foundation. The electrical installer prepares the switchboard and cables. The foundation must be ready before the battery is installed. Fire safety and any containment of firefighting water belong in the site assessment; a physical protection measure does not remove the risk of fire.

Who does what?

• ZynexGroup finances, builds, owns and operates the battery and coordinates specialists and authority discussions.
• The host provides a little outdoor space and site rights, plus data, access and information about business operations at the location.
• The contractor carries out groundworks, foundation work and physical preparation.
• The electrical installer carries out the electrical installation. Work on fixed installations requires an authorised electrical installation company.
• The grid company assesses the connection and sets grid terms.
• The municipality handles relevant construction, planning, fire safety and groundwater matters.

Ownership of the land is separate from ownership of the battery. Formal contracting parties and construction responsibilities must be clarified for the project.

Grid and authorities are separate tracks

A battery must draw and export electricity within the agreed terms. The grid application therefore needs information about the connection point, power, metering and technical conditions. Existing consumption capacity does not automatically permit export.

The municipality's assessment of placement and construction is a separate process. ZynexGroup prepares and coordinates the discussions but does not make the authorities' decisions. Refusal or changed requirements may mean the project must be adapted or cannot proceed.

A timeline with parallel activities

Once the agreement and relevant preconditions are in place, ordering and construction are planned. Production and transport can run alongside site preparation, electrical work and authority discussions. The realistic timeline depends on deliveries and decisions and must be updated when conditions change.

Testing, operation and market access

Before operation, the installation must be tested, documented and have the necessary permissions. Physical completion alone does not provide access to system service markets. ZynexGroup operates the battery after commissioning. The host's monthly share of operating profit depends on the market and operating results. The specific economics are confirmed in the site assessment and proposal.

Questions before proceeding

Does an existing connection permit export?

No. The grid company must permit battery export, and approval is not guaranteed.

Can the battery supply backup power?

That requires a site-specific design for the critical loads. It does not follow automatically from an installation intended for market operation.
