    Sizing & Calculation Logic

The commercial model is modular and scales with available grid capacity. Each battery unit requires 200A of available grid connection capacity.

    Illustrative sizing

    2400A grid connection = 2 battery units
    3600A grid connection = 3 battery units
    4800A grid connection = 4 battery units

The exact system configuration and payment amount are determined during the site assessment and proposal phase.

    Calculation logic

    • Each unit requires 200A
    • Number of units = available grid capacity ÷ 200A
    • Monthly payment is fixed under contract
    • Total contracted payments over 72 months define the payback structure

    Projected customer cash flow

40% deposit during construction, remaining 60% paid at commissioning around 4 months later, and guaranteed break-even by year 6 from commissioning. Years 7-20 are shown as an illustrative low/high range.

The diagram shows the technical sequence. The commercial logic is simple: flexibility is sold into balancing services, and that value is converted into a predictable payment structure for the site owner. When frequency moves away from normal conditions, the grid needs fast assets that can react immediately. Your battery can charge or discharge within the required response window and deliver the balancing action. ZynexGroup handles bidding, dispatch coordination, and operational control in the relevant system service markets. During the 72-month term, the owner receives contract-defined monthly payments while ZynexGroup carries day-to-day operational risk. Exact economics remain site-specific and are confirmed during the assessment and proposal process.

    The process

From first contact to operation. Seven steps, and we handle all of them.

    1. Site Assessment
      Step 01

      Site Assessment

We review the site's grid connection, available capacity, and installation conditions so we can confirm early whether your site is a strong fit, and you avoid spending time on projects that are unlikely to work.

    2. Proposal
      Step 02

      Proposal

ZynexGroup defines the recommended number of units, the commercial structure, and the payment model so you receive one clear proposal where technical sizing and commercial terms stay aligned.

    3. Commercial Agreement
      Step 03

      Commercial Agreement

The 72-month fixed payment structure, operating responsibilities, and post-contract options are defined before installation starts, with transparent payment logic and clear ownership of each role.

    4. Permitting
      Step 04

      Permitting

We handle relevant approvals and practical site planning so regulatory and coordination work stays on our side instead of becoming an open-ended internal burden for your team.

    5. Installation
      Step 05

      Installation

Physical installation happens parallel to your operations. The final grid integration requires only a minor ~4 hour scheduled switchover, ideally over a weekend, ensuring minimal disruption and granting lifelong outage protection thereafter.

    6. Commissioning
      Step 06

      Commissioning

The system is tested, configured, and prepared for operation, with performance validated before go-live to reduce operational uncertainty.

    7. Operation
      Step 07

      Operation

During the contract period ZynexGroup operates the system and manages the commercial model: you receive contract-defined monthly payments without running day-to-day market operations, while we manage delivery.

    How the System Generates Revenue

The battery participates in system services markets that pay for fast response. When the grid requires support, the battery can absorb or release power within a very short response window. ZynexGroup handles dispatch, monitoring, controls, and market participation. The facility owner does not manage daily market operations. The battery is operated as part of a broader commercial setup managed by ZynexGroup.

    Understand the market in detail

    Backup Power & Operational Continuity

The system includes a Static Transfer Switch (STS). In case of grid failure, the system isolates from the grid and the battery takes over within milliseconds — with no interruption to production, IT systems, or critical loads.

The system can reserve a configurable State of Charge (SoC) for backup. Backup duration depends on the number of units installed and the site's requirements.

    Our balancing market partner

    ZynexGroupHybrid Greentech

Hybrid Greentech is ZynexGroup's balancing market partner and BRP. They bid the portfolio into the relevant balancing and system service markets, while ZynexGroup manages the customer relationship, installation, commercial structure, and overall project delivery.

This allows the site owner to remain outside day-to-day market operations while still participating through the broader ZynexGroup portfolio.

What Can Go Wrong & How We Handle It

    Technical Faults

Battery systems can experience equipment faults, inverter faults, communication failures, or temporary operational interruptions. If something goes wrong, ZynexGroup handles the remediation and coordinates diagnosis, service, repair, replacement, and return to operation during the contract period. The site owner is not expected to manage technical fault handling.

    Commercial Resilience

What happens if ZynexGroup disappears? The hardware is 100% owned by your facility, openly integrated, and standard by design. If our partnership ever ends abruptly, the battery remains functional and market-ready. Any certified third-party aggregator can take over the bidding, meaning your asset is structurally protected against counterparty risk.

Frequently asked questions about the battery project
